If you post images on your business or personal profile on social networking sites you should consider using the optimal size dimensions to make sure the image is effective as possible, both on desktop and mobile devices.
Using the dimensions highlighted below your images will not be cropped or resized, allowing you to think carefully about how to craft your social media image posts. Click the images below to view them full size.
Facebook image post dimensions: 1200×627
Keeping your images to this size will allow them to fit perfectly into the News Feed on both Facebook desktop and mobile.
A couple of good points businesses may want to consider to maximize engagement;
- 1. Use creative and beautiful imagery
- 2. Include your brand logo on the image
- 3. Include a call to action
Twitter image post dimensions: 1024×512
Twitter now allows images to appear in the News Feed without the need of clicking on the Tweet first. Use a horizontal/landscape image orientation with a 2:1 aspect ratio for the perfect Twitter image post.
Keeping your Twitter image post to these dimensions will allow the whole image to be feature in the News Feed. “Squarer” image have the top and bottom of the image cut off, meaning a user has to click on the image to see the whole picture.
