Google Updates Its Voice Search and Makes It “Super Fast”
Google Voice Search has always been a matter of discussion for the past few years. It is a great tool that is only going to get better as time passes. Moreover, apart from the wonderful ability to search with your voice, the ever-evolving Google Now Cards and other contextually-intelligent features give us hope for an awesome feature.
We still, however, have to wait to see how it all unfolds and integrates into our lives. For now, we will just have to do with an updated version of Google Voice Search and its “super fast” speed. Not a bad deal by any means, right?
Google has recently announced on their Google Research Blog that they have updated the Voice Search and added new computational models that are now:
- More accurate
- Robust to noise
- And faster to respond to voice search queries models
Google didn’t provide any metrics on the accuracy improvements, but they did give us an idea of how fast it has become.
According to Google, the Voice Search within the Google app is now 300 milliseconds faster. Moreover, depending on the specific device, it may seem 500 milliseconds faster to some people.
While it may not seem like a drastic change, it certainly has a big impact on the speed of the search. Moreover, positive reviews are already pouring in as the interaction with the app now feels much more fluid and user-friendly.
Other good news is that this update has made the Google Voice Research more applicable and easy-to-use in noisy environments. With accurate results in a noisy environment, and that too at a much faster speed, Google has certainly taken a step forward in the right direction.
Let’s see what it brings next to improve the search experience!
