Google Confirms Review Stars Bug
A couple of weeks ago you might have noticed a strange behaviour in the Google search engine results pages (SERPs).
According to reports coming after February 16, Google review stars began dropping out from the search engine results. Because of the so many recent changes, it was being speculated if that was a bug or an intentional change by Google.
After 24 hours it was reported, some review stars started coming back in the Google search engine results pages. And now it has been confirmed by Google that it was just a bug.
Moreover, most of the review stars are now once again showing properly in the search results.
Many bloggers — and, especially, online businesses — might have experienced a drop in traffic due this seemingly innocuous bug. If you have been one of the victims of that, you do not have to worry about it anymore.
Here is the Moz Feature Report Tool that shows us the dip. Moreover, it also shows that things are now coming back to normal.
Google’s John Mueller confirmed that it was a bug in a recent Google Hangout video. You can see the confirmation yourself at the 56-minute mark of the video.
In summary, it was a just a bug and you do not have to worry about it anymore. Most of the review stars have now come back from the oblivion. And the rest of them will also follow shortly.
