A New Google Experiment Allows Business Posts to First Page of Search Results
In a rather interesting development, Google is experimenting with a very different feature.
Although currently nameless, the feature is very similar to what the US presidential candidates have for directly publishing posts on the front page of search results. Reports say that this current feature is an extension of that, and businesses have access to it.
Consider this feature as a Twitter-like stream that allows public figures, famous celebrities, and popular businesses to publish their contents directly on the first page of Google.
As of now, small businesses are the first ones to get the taste of this new experiment. If reports are to be believed, celebrities, famous public figures, and large brands will be the next ones to try it.
Here is an example:
As you can see, the position of the post if a very premium one. It can easily be transformed into a paid placement option for Google. And I don’t think that large brands would mind paying for such a prime position.
Moreover, the post is in the organic results feed — which is, obviously, very different than the sponsored posts.
However, Google says that they do not currently have any monetisation plans for this. But who knows, right?
For me, it is quite an interesting development as the post is directly replacing an organic search engine result. We will try to dig into it a bit more, and we will update you as soon as we get an update.
